Inventory Controller

Join Us in Building a Smarter, More Efficient Supply Chain

Are you passionate about turning chaos into control? We’re seeking an experienced and proactive Inventory Controller to drive critical improvements in inventory accuracy, system utilisation, and production flow. This role is central to eliminating inefficiencies and supporting our growth by ensuring the right materials are in the right place—every time.

Key Responsibilities

As our Inventory Controller, you will be responsible for:

  • BOM Accuracy: Establishing and maintaining accurate, up-to-date Bills of Materials (BOMs) to reduce production errors and delays.
  • Kanban Implementation: Designing and rolling out a comprehensive Kanban system to improve inventory flow, reduce bottlenecks, and align with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Inventory Management: Developing and enforcing clear inventory control procedures to eliminate stock-outs of critical parts and minimise excess inventory of non-essentials.
  • ERP Optimisation (M1): Enhancing the use of our M1 ERP system to ensure all inventory transactions are timely, accurate, and contribute to reliable reporting and data integrity.
  • Master Data Management: Maintaining high-quality master data—including part numbers, units of measure, supplier details, and location data—to ensure accurate inventory control, streamline purchasing, and support reliable system outputs.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Improving the accuracy of inventory valuation, project costing, and margin reporting by addressing systemic issues and driving data quality.
  • Staff Training & Process Development: Creating and delivering training programs to build inventory discipline across teams and establishing standardised practices for inventory control and BOM management.
  • Cross-Functional Communication: Working closely with production, procurement, and finance teams to ensure alignment and support across the business.

About You – Experience & Skills Required

We’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running and make an immediate impact. You should have:

  • Proven experience in inventory control, materials management, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of Kanban systems and lean inventory practices.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, preferably M1 or similar, with a focus on improving system utilisation and data accuracy.
  • Demonstrated success in BOM management, including correcting and maintaining master data.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and training skills, with the ability to build buy-in and improve cross-functional inventory practices.
  • A continuous improvement mindset—you love streamlining processes and eliminating waste.

Why This Role Matters

This isn’t just about inventory—it’s about enabling performance across the entire business. Your work will directly impact:

  • On-time production and customer delivery
  • Spare parts availability and sales growth
  • Accurate financial and project reporting
  • Reduced operating costs and improved efficiency
